Baby Charlotte

I got to photograph my second newborn in the new studio and I have to say, I LOVE IT!!!!!!!  I’ve been friends with Charlotte’s mom and dad for over 10 years now, and it’s so fun to watch their family change and grow!  Charlotte has a beautiful big sister Nora who did great during the entire session!  I can tell she’s going to be such a good helper to her mom and her little sister 🙂  Charlotte arrived 5 weeks early and spent two weeks in the NICU before coming home.  She was 3 weeks old at the time of our shoot, but I don’t think I’ve ever had an easier newborn!  She slept the whole time and never made a peep!  Congrats Jen, Adam and big sister Nora!!!!

Baby A

I got to meet and photograph 10 day old little Avery.  She was such a sweetie and had a beautiful head of dark hair!  She put up a bit of a fight going to sleep, but once she was out….she was OUT!  We got some fun new shots that I haven’t had a chance to try before and she was the first newborn I had the pleasure of photographing in my new studio!!!!  Thanks to her mom and Dad Kacie and Mark for bringing her in and hanging out during out session!  I love when parents of newborns follow the directions I give them to prepare their newborn for the session!  It runs so much more smoothly!!!!  I hope you guys love your preview!

The cute headband below was made by my good friend and fellow photographer Jennie Gaskins of JG Photography!  She’s so creative!!!!  Thanks Jennie, I love it!

Sweet girl

I love this family!  Ashlyn is such a doll and a happy baby, and her mom and dad are the best!  Very laid back and fun to be around!!!!  They came in for some Christmas pictures and also to mark Ashlyn’s 4 month birthday!  This was the first day I got to shoot in the new studio, and it was very fun!  I’m in LOVE!  I can’t wait to see you guys again in a few months!  Look at this beautiful baby and her adorable little smile!

I don’t usually add texture to pictures, but this was subtle, and I kind of like it!!!!

Jim and Reena’s wedding!!!

I am not a wedding photographer, nor do I ever want to be a wedding photographer, it’s just not my specialty…..but of course I’m going to bring my camera when I’m going to a close family member’s wedding!  Even though Jim is technically my cousin, he’s really more like a brother to me.  We grew up spending A LOT of time with his family and I consider him and his sisters like my own brother and sisters!  Here are a few pics from the wedding festivities.  Reena is the most BEAUTIFUL bride I have ever seen!  Love both of you guys, sorry it took me a bit to get these on here!!!

This next picture is during Reena’s Mendhi party.  She had both of her hands (front and back) and the tops of her feet painted SO beautifully!  It took hours and in order to achieve a dark color she had to sleep with the paint on (NOT EASY) and not wash her hands until the next morning!  It was so much fun!  All the girls there had the opportunity to get their hands done as well and it was a blast!

I’m just going to preface these next couple pics by saying this was in a bar (after the rehersal dinner) and it was SOOOOOO dark!  I don’t think my camera has ever had to work that hard!  I was shooting some of these at f/1.4 and I maxed out my ISO just to get enough light in because I didn’t bring a flash, so needless to say they’re not very sharp or clear. Plus, as the night wore on, I definitely wasn’t sober, so that also contributed!  I just had to show them because it was one of the best times EVER!!!!!!!  I’m posting these just for fun, definitely not my best work, but it was a good representation of our awesome night!

My hubby Derrick and my cousin/sister Erica!  I think they’d had a few by this time too!

Fresh…..

I had a very special newborn session yesterday!  I’ve been friends with Ethan’s mommy, Lorrie, since I was 9 years old!!!!!  We’ve been through so much together and I was so happy that they chose me to capture his first days of life!  He is absolutely beautiful and did great the entire session!  Sure I got pooped on twice and peed on once….he’s sneaky, he waited until his diaper off for a good minute until he would start peeing….his parents even warned me about it, but right when I thought I was in the clear and he definitely wasn’t going to pee, he’d surprise me!  Nothing out of the ordinary for a newborn session:-)  Ethan’s daddy is into motorcycles and he requested that we get a picture of Ethan on his bike!  Ethan LOVED sleeping inside his daddy’s helmet!  It was the running joke by the end of the session, that if Ethan is up at night and they can’t get him to sleep, they just need to snuggle him in daddy’s motorcycle helmet and he’ll be out like a light!  Amazingly enough, that was the one time he didn’t pee or poop:-)  Lucky Daddy!!!!  Thank you Lorrie and Andy for being so laid back and up for anything during our session!  It will be so much fun to design your birth announcements, you have so many great images to choose from!  Ethan is SO lucky to have two people who love him as much as you do!  I can’t wait to spend more time with him as he grows!!!!  Love you guys!!!!

I love you Mommy!!!

He was actually laughing when we took this!!!  Sweetest thing to hear!

So serious 🙂
